Hot Hatch - India

There's huge competition in the Hatchback segment in India, there were quite a few contenders to be the Hottest Hatch viz.,

Hyundai i20
Hyundai i10
Fiat Punto
Ford Figo
Nissan Micra
MS Swift (still on a role, it takes a while to get one delivered after you book it)
MS A Star
MS Alto (including the K10 variant)
VW Polo
Honda Jazz

Facts:

The i20 is for sure a great car, but it's priced like an elephant, same is the case with the Jazz.
The Trio from MS were not a major threat to the others, but not inferior in quality.
The i10 gave the others a run for their money, lost it in the styling though
Micra and Polo had niggles with the suspension and handling.

So being left with the two major rivals in Punto and Figo, it's time we get to the final verdict, Punto's italian design is a show stealer, it will make most people to have a second look, had the punch, performs well and when it came to the pricing and service availability the Punto had to hold back.
With good performance, competitive styling and aggressive pricing the Figo had the biggest plus factor - Value For Money with it, so it left all the other competitors behind to cross the rope as the "Hot Hatch" for now.

For now the winner hails from the stable of the Blue Oval, but there's Etios from Toyota and MS Cervo due soon, let's wait n watch if these would change the standings....

I had left the fabia from the Swedish auto maker as it had undergone a revamp (cosmetic and tech stuff) and wasn't there as a competitor by that time., So don't come to the conclusion that the fabia is not in the contention, it's priced high and needs a timely stitch in it's suspension for surviving in the Indian Roads (!)
